Banks

Ulster Bank

202-206 York St, Belfast BT15 1HY, UK – 0345 366 5592

Queues are long enough like others have said. Staff are always helpful at least.

Bad queue times since the Antrim Road (beside Tescos) branch closed. Queue to the door, 25 minutes waiting to see one of the two bank tellers serving customers. Parking at this branch worse than ever. I can't imagine what the local residents think. Edit: definitely improved over the last week, rating updated.

Fresh and clean in the new store. Lots of staff but still a wait to transact business. Over all very good.

Very modern branch with staff that are willing to help whenever you are having difficulties. Have iPads set up around the branch with chip readers to access your online banking services easily or to set up payments. Has multiple self-service atms allowing easy depositing of cash and also cheques. If self-service atms aren't your thing, then there are plenty of cashiers. Speedy service and helpful staff give it a high rating!

Dental Surgeries

Blue Sky Dentistry & Implant Centre

28 Wellington Park, Belfast BT9 6DL, UK – 028 9068 7722

The old me hated the routine visits to the dentist. I was nervous and always embarrassed myself by panicking as soon as she started working on me. My front teeth needed crowned and the temporary tooth that she continually replaced, kept falling out. I was embarrassed to smile openly and it really hindered me when attending meetings and social events. Then last year I found Dermot at Blue Sky. From the very first visit, I have been made to feel welcome, comfortable and calm! I now have 5 new crowns, an implant and I don’t mind saying - a lovely new smile! My new teeth are longer and the before and after pics are staggering! The difference this has made to my confidence is fab. I can openly chat, smile and eat all foods normally. I highly and whole heartedly recommend Dermot and the whole team at Blue Sky dentistry!

Ive been attending blue sky since last year. I received "teeth in a day" proceedure which was done while i was asleep i woke up with my old smile again. I am delighted with the result i can smile again with confidence. All through my treatment i felt no pain whatsoever not even in the day i had the operation done. I would highly recomend blue sky results are fantastic. All staff are friendly and very helpful. I was so glad i found someone who could help me get ME back. A big thank you to Rory and staff

The Dental Centre Belfast

315-317 Donegall Rd, Belfast BT12 6FQ, UK – 028 9032 8765

Smart and modern dental practice! I've always found the staff friendly and helpful. My dentist Jan Gilbert is very professional and I would definitely recommend him. I've also been to their hygienist to get my teeth cleaned and I was really impressed that she also gave me advice for my oral hygiene.

Considerate and caring - exactly what a dental practice should be! The Dentist Jan Gilbert is friendly and always gives reassurance. Dental Care Centre staff take time to get to know their patients and answer any questions as well as helping to overcome any nerves you may have. The modern facilities are world class and the treatment is second to none! Highly recommended

Dr Brendan Colgan

463 Falls Rd, Belfast BT12 6DD, UK – 028 9024 3593

Dr Colgan is such a lovely man and a fantastic doctor my children love him

I adore Dr Cogan! He's all for the people and would do anything to help someone out, he's a lovely man and makes you feel completely at ease. h's brilliant at what he does! I also think the rest of the staff are incredible even the wee receptionists. Brilliant surgery! Best thing I ever did was switch my GP to them.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Kingsbridge Private Hospital

811-815 Lisburn Rd, Belfast BT9 7GX, UK – 028 9066 7878

I travelled from cork on the day of my procedure on my hip. I found it was a highly professional hospital with excellent caring staff that exceeded all of my expectations from the moment I arrived. Each member of staff introduced themselves to me and explained their role in my procedure which I felt really calming and eased some of the anxiety I was experiencing before hand. Thank you all!

This is a private hospital. so it can be expensive !! So phone them first and ask them how much will this treatment or consultant cost first. When I was having my treatment the staff was friendly and helpful. Place was spotless. And the food was nice and I got my treatment within 2 weeks .if this was by the NHS it could of been upto 12 month waiting list.if you like this review please give myself a like đź‘Ť

Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital

274 Grosvenor Rd, Belfast BT12 6BA, UK – 028 9024 0503

Both babies delivered with no problems. Midwifes were very helpful but I would advise all new mums to read a bit about Labour as some I saw looked like they didn't know what for they came to the hospital. More prepared you are less care you need and less stressed you are.

Had nothing but great experiences with this hospital. The midwives are amazing.

Musgrave Park Hospital

Stockmans Ln, Belfast BT9 7JB, UK – 028 9090 2000

Our daughter was cared for in the children's department before a small operation on her thumb, we could not have asked for nicer staff especially julianne who took care of Sofia and us from we arrived and throughout the day, very impressed, lovely friendly lady and very compassionate. Thanks so much for making a stressful day so much better. Johnny, Mandy and Sofia Bradshaw. Thanks again

My mum had a knee replacement. The staff were superb. Hospital was clean and bright and food was good and plentiful.

Brilliant yard with great staff

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Belfast

The Ginger Bistro

68-72 Great Victoria St, Belfast BT2 7AF, UK – 028 9024 4421

My wife and I came to Belfast for our anniversary and while looking for somewhere to eat we came across this place. Walking in it looks so small, we were met with a welcoming reception and was more than happy to find us a table, even though we had no booking. We sat and looked through the menu, it all sounded good, I ordered the French Onion soup and homemade bread to start and then chicken, mushroom puree and pine nuts with cottage pie, sounds like a strange combination but look at the picture. All went down great, especially with the cocktails we ordered, espresso martini and a "Jawbreaker" gin. We would totally recommend this place to eat, and eat well.

Visited this restaurant with my boyfriend last Saturday evening. Staff was friendly, attentive and the service was great. I got the Roast Fillet of Hake with Leeks, Celeriac, Horseradish and Crayfish Casserole, which was very tasty. My boyfriend got the 10 Oz Co Antrim Sirloin with Roast Tomato & Peppercorn Cream and Fat Chips also super tasty. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because we were seated at a high table since they were the only tables available, which personally I find slightly uncomfortable. Definitely worth a visit!

Holohan's at the Barge

1 Lanyon Quay, Belfast BT1 3LG, UK – 028 9023 5973

The perfect place for a dinner date in Belfast. The food never disappoints and the staff are absolutely lovely. We visited for my fiancees birthday and even though I only gave them 15 minutes warning they were able to write a beautiful chocolate message onto her dessert and even find some candles. Exceptional service! Just make sure to book well in advance for dinner as it is a small place that fills up fast.

Lovely meal, unique atmosphere, and excellent service. Had the special, a seafood boxy and it was spectacular. My mother had the hake and daughter had the steak... both also excellent. We didn't have a reservation but arrive just after opening and they squeezed us in. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Home Restaurant

22 Wellington Pl, Belfast BT1 6GE, UK – 028 9023 4946

Beautifully paired flavours! The food at Home Restaurant was delicious! They seem to be able to cater to just about any food allergy or dietary requirements which was nice to see. I got the falafel and it was exploding with a variety of flavours all of which complimented each other. The staff there were great and very friendly. Pretty cool vintage decor with various paintings to look at too.

We went here on a recommendation and had a set 3 course menu which was excellent. It was quite busy here throughout the evening and had a nice atmosphere. This was a great first meal out in Belfast.

Nursery and Preschools

Kids at BT9 Day Nursery

60 Ulsterville Ave, Belfast BT9 7AQ, UK – 028 9066 5266

Kids@BT9 is a wonderful nursery. It was highly recommended by a friend and our two year old has been going since he was seven months old. It is a warm and caring environment with professional and kind staff. It is reassuring to see how well he is looked after and it is wonderful to see how happy and excited he is to run through the nursery gates each morning. He loves going and sometimes doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day! The location is perfect and has safe off road parking for drop off and collection. All of the meals are freshly prepared on site each day. He is constantly learning new things and we are extremely happy with his social and emotional development. We couldn’t be happier with Kids@BT9.

Kids@BT9 is a well managed, friendly and welcoming day nursery. The staff do an excellent job and genuinely care about the welfare of the children they look after - nothing is too much trouble! Interesting and engaging activities are planned relating to a particular monthly topic or theme and are pitched at an appropriate level depending on the age range. The children also get the opportunity to experience 'messy play' with water, sand, paints, crafts etc. and outdoor play is encouraged whenever possible. Music is a popular pastime too with Joe Jingles coming in to run workshops and singing songs being a daily occurrence. The Junior Preschoolers and Preschoolers learn Spanish with two members of staff who are native speakers and this has been a great success. Meals are varied and healthy with good quality meat being bought in from the local butcher and everything being cooked on site. I honestly couldn't recommend Kids@BT9 highly enough. As a parent you only want what is best for your child and this safe, caring and homely environment really does offer the best quality of care.
